How to submit copyright infringement notices and counter-notices for vchan.
1. Respect for intellectual property
vchan respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users to do the same. Uploading content you do not own or lack permission to distribute is prohibited.
We respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and similar applicable laws.
2. Notice of claimed infringement
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized agent) and believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent including all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works)
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to locate it (URL(s) preferred)
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed
3. Designated agent

Incomplete notices may delay processing. We may share the notice with the uploader of the challenged material.
4. Counter-notice
If your content was removed due to a copyright notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice including:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or any judicial district in which vchan may be found if outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the complainant
5. Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances, we terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also remove content and restrict features pending investigation.
6. Non-copyright IP complaints
For trademark or other intellectual-property concerns that are not copyright claims, contact [email protected] with supporting details. We evaluate such reports in good faith but may apply different procedures than DMCA.
